Ch. Sunset Hill's Indiana Jones "Indy"

In the mid-eighties, we had fun finishing Indy's championship.  He was an incredibly sweet boy, and we were fortunate that several people asked to breed him to their special girls, so he has a few champion kids and grandkids.  Because he was such a pretty dog, perhaps the best way to share Indy's story is in pictures. Here he is at his very first show, taking Reserve Winners Dog as a puppy:

Handled by owner Jim Babb, breeder judge Dan Flietas.

Another puppy win, his first points, also owner handled, judge Roxanne Mahan:

And below, as an adult, looking impressive even out of coat, still handled by Jim Babb, judge Mr. Roger Hartinger:

At age 6, Indy's beautiful front and impressive head were still evident when Mr. Schlaginhaufen (Melanie's father-in-law) met Indy's new owner, Mr. Inamura, in Tokyo and snapped this candid so Melanie could see how well he was doing in his new home:

Indy was not a perfect dog, but he had a beautiful front assembly and the classic Sunset Hill's head type.  His breeder was Anne Bruder (Sunset HIlls) and Brenda Kolar sold Indy to us when he was 5 months old. Anne and Brenda are no longer in Siberians but we look back and appreciate them when we remember Indy.

Indy left an international footprint, as he took multiple Best in Shows wins in Japan, and sired some lovely dogs in that country while he lived out his days with Mr. Inamura, who sent us this photo of one of his Best in Show wins:
